Easter Love

Easter is one of my favorite times of the year. Not only is the weather always unbelievable, but I just love the reminder of why I'm here. Christ's death and resurrection are the foundation of my faith and life, and I really should be celebrating Eater daily, no every moment of every day. Yet, as a normal human being, I tend to drift into the day-to-day self-absorbed notions of this life. Thus, my love of Easter: the reminder of my Savior and His perfect Love for me. He is Love! I hope to resemble Him more and more as I grow.

One of my bible study friends found this great idea on Pinterest! It's a resurrection garden. See the tomb and how dead the mound looks? Once Easter comes, the grass grows, and symbolizes our life in eternal Christ!

It actually started sprouting on Easter Sunday! Amazing!

Yes, Matthew humored the child in me, and we stuck with the coloring tradition!
(I must get it from my mom because she had a hunt all ready for us and some other 20-somethings from her neighborhood when we went to their house for dinner on Easter.)
I went with the Clausen's to the Passion City Good Friday service at Verizon Wireless Ampitheater. It was awesome!
Oh.... and I donated over half of my hair last week!
No, not for Barbie dolls (I was actually asked this by a student).

Break from the blog

As March begins, often we hope for a great thaw in our land. Now Georgia certainly doesn't have any icy soil that needs warming, but our yearning for more light and fresh newness to keep us from numbing appears universal. I have written on this blog for ten years now. From singleness to newlywed to mama of four sickly, but now active, growing boys. It's been a place for me to purge, process, and pray through some of life's biggest changes and challenges. It's also helped me keep distant family and friends informed, but I've felt for some time it's come to an appropriate place for pause. I know that I have many more mountains and valleys to travel if the Lord wills it, and many more personal lessons that I'd love to share and reread to my kiddos one day (and if anyone wants to organize and compile this little landscape into a memoir, please be my guest), but I do not ever want to assume a posture of numbness as it relates to our regular routines. I re...

Influenced

influence....... influenced. The latter word signifies a condition where someone else has an effect on your life. Taking off one little letter seems to insight a condition where you are the one acting upon the lives of others. I wish I could claim that I am rarely influenced by the opinions of others, but sadly that is not the case. If it does not go against my beliefs, principles, or well-being, I am one of those people that can easily jump on a bandwagon if presented with the material in an intelligent and legitimate manner. For that reason, I stay away from most things that can have a potential momentary or negative influence on my life. Unfortunately when it comes to little Levi, there are many different people taking care of him, and there are many different opinions regarding his current and future condition. For some reason, since the day Levi was born though, I have not searched the internet for a single thing regarding his care or condition. I believe God has protected me fro...
