Added amenities

I've been adding some Pinterest do-dad ideas around the apt. to make it feel even homier (is that a real word? Yes I'm an English teacher who doesn't know all the words!) and to cover up some bare walls with inexpensive art.  These daily reminders of our engagement match perfectly with our room colors! These are temporary nick-knacks to display my awesome,  literal, "book" shelves in the guest room. I LOVE this wedding gift- my uncle handmade this beautiful bench, but I painted  it brown instead of blue to match our family room decor. I never knew I had any interior decorating talent, but there's a hint of somethin comin out ever since I became a Mrs.! ~Creative CubBuster

Bed without Breakfast

Matthew and I planned a romantic getaway this weekend at a bed and breakfast in Watkinsville. We stayed in on Valentine's Day knowing we had a special long weekend ahead of us.  Sadly, poor Matthew got a stomach bug Friday night, so we ended up with the bed but no breakfast (unless you count the BRAT diet as a great breakfast- you know, bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. Is my mom the only one who drilled that into my head?).  Thank the Lord, I have yet to contract the bug even though as a wife, there was no escape from the germs in our home. I am thankful that the illness seems to have passed and we still have a restful day off for President's day tomorrow.  We did get to have a fun Thursday night V-day activity though.  Matthew has a neat and intelligent, fun-fact about him: He has a secret love of classical music. When I first found this out several years ago, I thought it was a joke, but when I caught him listening to Rachmaninov's "Piano concerto

What season is it?

Okay.... what season is it? My mind and body are so confused! We've had spring-like weather for most of January, hence my budding rosemary (I didn't even know that rosemary had a bud! It's quite pretty though!). Now we have the potential for snow tonight!!! Craziness! Oh how I'd love a snow day (one of the many resason I became a teacher)! I've been able to withstand the many nose-running, sneezing, coughing, aching pains that I see in many of my students. Praise GOD for an improved immune system. I guess this is just what you get when you border Florida and a Carolina. We aren't sure what season to mimic. Praying for snow and spring!  ~CC

Mr. and Mrs. Clausen

Congrats to Brooke and Daniel! The wedding was gorgeous just like the bride! The before shot. She was already beautifully glowing for the big day! Action shot. Calm, cool, and collected. She was born to be a Clausen B not only had 2 matrons of honor as shown here, but 4 other bridesmaids, and 6 honorary bridesmaids who wore black. She is just too popular.  The was the awesome backdrop put together by Brooke and her dad I'm assuming (mr. crafty) for the alter piece! The 1001 cranes turned out amazing! I think this Japanese tradition is worth the paper cuts! Cranes and twinkle lights as far as the eye could see! (My folded cranes are the funny looking ones!) They had a cookie bar- this is why we are friends! I was asked to help bake, so I made the "Happily Espresso After" chocolate chip cookies as pictures here. Did you expect anything else. They were one of the first ones to go (I'm just sayin) I am not going to mention how many were t
